What is a master
carpenter?
2 yrs pre-qualify for apprenticeship with high school.
4 yrs apprenticeship, with college credits.
4 yrs for journeyman, final exams.
State License Board Exams
You must have this license to able to contract for jobs that value more than
$500 in labor and materials.
Master Carpenter
Typically after applying your
trade for 10 years, after your journeyman papers, trained our own
apprentices
and are craftsmen that are highly skilled and respected by our
brothers. We will finally be recognized as a
"Master".

License Board.
"Be advised that unlicensed individuals pose a risk to you
and your family's financial security.
They expose you to
significant financial harm in the event that a
worker is injured while on your property,
if your property is damaged, if the work is incomplete and/or
faulty."

Remember to look if they can cover their workers with compensation insurance it's at the bottom.
It is a Felony to mislead consumers into believing they are a licensed contractor.

you should hire a licensed general building contractor."
It is illegal for a tiler or painter for example to post they
can do all of this work.
Here you can check the class they have and what they are trained
to do.
If you find someone is posting with an outdated license or
for work not covered by their license ...
Report Unlicensed Activity
If they have a license to
contract they legally have to post it in any advertising.
That's the law.
If they don't post a license, be careful.
"In California, anyone who contracts to perform work on a
project that is valued at
$500 or more for labor and materials must hold a current, valid
license."
