For most cabinets you will need to add a "backer" for the crown to be nailed to. Rip this to match your type of crown... the U.S. standards are 52/38 deg and 45/45 deg. Once you do this you attach the backer to the top of the cabs then nail the crawn to that. Refer to the crown moulding tutorial http://www.altereagle.com/Homeowner_Guid.html
